Chevrolet Cruze launched in India

Chevrolet launched its new Cruze which is base on the 300 series Delta platform and is even called as the J300. The Cruze is available in two variants, LT and LTZ. The LT costs Rs 10.99lakh and LTZ costs Rs 12.45lakh (ex-showroom, Thane).

The Cruze has a 2.0-litre 150bhp diesel engine and the LTZ variant has PEPS (Passive Entry Passive Start) feature, which is a feature in most of the high end cars. Chevrolet doesn’t plan to just launch a new car, but a new range of cars which will be based on the 300 series range platform.

The Cruze will have a 5-speed manual transmission and ABS as standard. The company offers a three-year/1,00,000km warranty on the Cruze to up its game in the Indian market. The Cruze will be later made available with an automatic transmission. The engine management on the Cruze has been programmed differently compared to the Captiva, to churn out more power. Currently the car localisation is about 50%.
