India hopes to maintain the present level of economic growth despite a global slump, the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee told parliament on Wednesday.

Asia’s third largest economy grew by 6.7 per cent in 2008/09 (April/March).

“I do hope this level of growth we will be able to maintain. Certain signs of improvement are visible,” Mukherjee said.
