Venicile Vyapari is all about a murder which took place in the 1980’s and Pavithran (Mammootty), a police constable who is sent to investigate the mystery. The name is adapted from the famous Shakespearean play “The Merchant of Venice”, Alappuzha being the Venice of Kerala and Mammooty the coir merchant! Venicile Vyapari - Movie Synopsis
Shafi-Mammmotty-James Albert team is titled ‘Venissile Vyapari’.It has nothing to do with William Shakespeare’s famous play ‘The Merchant of Venice’.But in this film Mammootty will play a trader based on Alappuzha which is called ‘Venice of the East’.
This is Shafi’s Fourth Mammootty Film after Thommanum Makkalum,Mayavi and Chattambinadu. This is the fourth Film of James Albert after Classmates,Cycle and Ividam Swargamanu. Also This is the First Film of James albert with Shafi and Mammootty.
The Film will be an interesting one since it unites one of the best Commercial Film Directors of Malayalam with one of the Best Writers in Malayalam.
The story revolves around a murder mystery happened in 1980s. Pavithran (Mammootty) was once a police constable. He lost his parents in his childhood. He enters police force by chance as it is not his ambition. So he resigns this job and starts coir business at Alapuzha. Ammu (Kavya) is the leader of the coir workers. Pavithran loves Ammu, but does not reveal his love. Tamil and Telugu film actress Poonam Bajwa is also doing an important role in this film. She is reprising the role of Lakshmi, a bank manager.
