Her Tamil film, Thillalangadi, is still awaiting release, but Tamannaah already has reasons to smile. That’s because the pretty actress has been nominated in the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) category in both Tamil and Telugu for the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009 (South) that’ll be held in Chennai on August 7.
“It’s a great honour,” gushes the actress, who has been nominated for Kandein Kadhalai (Tamil) and Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam (Telugu), “It’s great when talent in the cinema industry is recognised. I’m looking forward to the awards function and am sure it’ll be a wonderful night.”
Who, according to her, has been her best co-star till date? “As clichéd as it may sound, every actor that I’ve worked with had unique individual traits,” states the actress, who worked with Karthi in Paiyaa, Suriya in Ayan and Jayam Ravi in Thillalangadi, adding, “It’s been wonderful to share screen space and work with such talented people in the industry.”
So, how does she manage to deliver hit after hit at the box office? “If anybody knew that, there’ll be just hit films all along. For me, things just happened. I’ve been very lucky.”
With several big projects lined up, it looks like up is the only way to go for Tamannaah, who has managed to shine even in commercial films.
