Gopika is making a comeback to movies, hardly a year after her marriage. She was a very successful actress since she got several characters to perform. Gopika hinted about her desire to get back into acting during an award function in Kerala.

Now Gopika is going to play the heroine’s role in Dileep’s new film Swantham Lekhakan, directed by cameraman turned director P.Sukumaran.

In the film she and Dileep play investigative journalists of the 1980’s who report a scoop that creates a political upheaval in Kerala.

The grapevine is abuzz that she is missing the arc lights and Malluwood. Gopika is also negotiating with a senior Tamil actor to play heroine in his “slice of life” kind of movie.
