Hrithik Roshan has got his socks pulled up to lead the Bollywood cricket team during the IIFA weekend in Sri Lankan capital Colombo.

It’s going to be cricket for cause. The proceeds of the friendly match between the IIFA team and Sri Lankan team, helmed by their regular skipper Kumar Sangakkara, will go towards rehabilitation of child soldiers of the vanquished LTTE.

So many Bollywood celebs have shown interest that IIFA organizers have now split the celebs into two teams. Hrithik will lead one team; Sunil Shetty will reportedly lead the other.

“I am actually very delighted and very, very proud to be part of team IIFA. Colombo here we come,” an exuberant Hrithik told reporters at an IIFA press meet in Mumbai.

“It is indeed a great honour to play with the Sri Lankan cricketing greats and my friends in the fraternity. I support the initiative of ‘Cricket for Children’ and IIFA Hands for Humanity and hope to put in my best efforts as a captain of a team towards the noble cause,” Hrithik added.

Other Bollywood celebs playing for the IIFA teams include Salman Khan and Dino Morea.
