Jackie Shroff is all set to debut in Kollywood with Aaranya Kaandam, in which he plays a don. The film features him in lead role and SPB Charan produces the film under the banner of Capital Film Works. Debutant Kumara Raja handles story, screenplay, dialogues and direction for the film.
When queried as to how he managed to convince Jackie, Kumararaja says, ‘the role required a senior person. I got to meet Shroff through a friend. He liked the story and immediately agreed to be a part of it’.
The film is produced by SP Charan, Jackie confessed that he is a big fan of Charan’s dad, legendary singer SP Balasubramaiyam.
“SPB has sung the song Ye Mera Dil Pagal Hai… for me in Gardish. So when this offer came to me, I was most willing”, the actor explained.
In Aaranya Kaandam, Jackie plays Singam Perumal a dreaded don and said that he is perfectly at ease doing a Tamil film.
“It is not a film that requires me to mouth lengthy dialogues. Like its title suggests, Aaranya Kaandam is about the animal instincts in all human beings. And expressing savagery requires no language” concludes the actor.
