Ashutosh Gowariker-directed Jodhaa Akbar starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan, has been nominated in the Best Foreign film category of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards in London.
”Jodhaa Akbar’ is a masterpiece in its own way. The film has already won various awards and winning BAFTA will be another feather in our cap. We are very hopeful with the movie,’ said Girish Johar.
Starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead, the film won the audience award as the Best Foreign Film at the 32nd Sao Paulo International Film Festival and the Best Film Grand Prix and Best Actor award for Hrithik at the Film Festival of Muslim Cinema Golden Minbar in Kazan, Russia, this year.
The final nominations list for the BAFTA awards will be announced on January 15 with the ceremony itself being staged at the Royal Opera house in London on February 8.
