Superstar Mammootty’s next movie to reach the theatres will be ‘Shikari’, the movie which was simultaneously made in Kannada and Malayalam. ‘Shikaari’ will get to theatres on the 17th of this month. Abhay Simha is the director of this movie which will have Poonam Bajwa as the heroine.

This is the debut feature of Mammootty in Kannada, who had earlier talked a few Kannada sentences on screen for films like Vidheyan and ‘Chattambi Naadu’. The movie will have him as a character who falls in love with another character in a novel.

Mammootty spoke about why he accepted the project. “I loved the script. It drew me to say yes almost automatically. The added advantage was the fact that there is a young able director and a good producer backing the script. I always wanted to do a Kannada film, which is why I said yes to this bilingual project,”

However, Shikari is a dream project of award winner director Abhaya Simha. Mammootty is playing an IT professional in the film, which is set in the pre-Independence era. It deals with the pre- and post-independence conditions in India. The film bosses are still in search of a suitable actress for the role of the lead lady. Aditya, Mohan, Rangayana Raghu are in the other cast.
