Actress Geethu Mohandas is ready for a new phase of life.She is getting married to her long time “friend, philosopher and guide” for over seven years, ace cameraman Rajiv Ravi (Chandini Bar, No Smoking, Dev D, 99, Gulal, Classmates, Jana etc) on November 14 in Kochi.

Geethu’s world is all about realistic cinema and she has done 40 odd films in Malayalam and Tamil. In Malayalam, she started of as a child artist with Fazil’s Onnu Muthal Poojiyam Vaare (1986) and subsequently as heroine did many Malayalam films like Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Nallu Pennungal, Shyama Prasad’s Akale, KP Kumaran’s Akashagopuram.

Her two films in Tamil were Mouli directed Nala Damayanthi (2003), a comedy caper with Madhavan and K.Balachandar’s Poi (2006).

Geethu was in love with Rajiv Ravi, a Pune Film Institute graduate who was in front of the avant- garde film movement in Bollywood, for the last five years. He had terrific influence on her, which also created an aversion in her for doing “running around trees” kind of films.

Last Month Geetu premiered her first directorial venture, a 22 minute Malayalam short film Kelkkunnundo, whose cameraman was Rajiv Ravi.
