Ambatti Rayudu’s 55 helped Mumbai post 178 on board following which Hyderabad was bowled out for 115, leading to a comfortable 63 run for Mumbai.
Rayudu (55 not out, 29b) and Saurabh Tiwary carried out yet another rescue act for Mumbai. This time, their 65-run association for the fourth wicket pulled Mumbai out of a troublesome 62-3 in the ninth over.
At the end, Rayudu and Pollard pumped in 51 in just 3.2 overs to change Mumbai’s score from an average one to an impressive one.
Mumbai are at the top of the points table while Deccan are placed seventh.
Sachin Tendulkar elected to bat in this home game and added 53 runs in six overs with Shikhar Dhawan. Ojha struck first ball when Dhawan charged him, missed and was stumped.
After Tendulkar fell LBW to Rahul Sharma, Ojha beat Dwayne Bravo’s defence with a beauty. After two orthodox deliveries, Bravo missed the line of an arm bowl and was bowled.
Ojha struck again when Tiwary (44, 35b, 1×4, 3×6) slogged one to deep midwicket.
Rayudu carried on for a fifty, his second in the tournament.
