After bowling out Delhi Daredevils for 111 runs, Kings XI Punjab successfully chased down the target with balls 8 to spare in the IPL encounter.

Punjab lost only three wickets in Pathan (12), Jayawardene (38) and Sangakkara (33) to beat the hosts by seven wickets. The Sri Lankan skipper was dismissed when the Kings XI were on the verge of victory needing just few runs.

After Pathan and Jayawardene were dismissed, Yuvraj Singh (21 off 25 balls) and Kumar Sangakkara steadied the run-chase against the hosts.

From Delhi bowlers, Paul Collingwood scalped two wickets and Amit Mishra took one wicket.

Punjab lost Irfan Pathan (12 off 17 balls) after starting off positively in their run-chase against Delhi Daredevils. He was caught by Rajat Bhatia off Amit Mishra.

Earlier, after electing to bat, the hosts Delhi could manage to score a small total losing all the wickets.

A disciplined bowling attack helped Kings XI Punjab bowl out hosts Delhi Daredevils for 111 runs at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

No Delhi batsman could survive and perished to a triumphant Punjab bowling attack in 19.4 overs. Only Gautam Gambhir (26 off 12 balls) and Mithun Manhas (26 off 27 balls) were among the runs.

Irfan Pathan scalped Sehwag and later two run outs of Warner and Gambhir early in the innings wrecked Delhi.

Irfan Pathan scalped three wickets, Piyush Chawla took two wickets whereas Love Ablish, Yuvraj Singh and Juan Theron chipped in one wicket each.

Yuvraj Singh dismissed Reetinder Rajat Bhatia when Sodhi took a stunning catch of Bhatia at cover point.

Love Ablish scalped Farveez Maharoof. The Sri Lankan left a big gap between bat and pad where the ball sneaked.

Irfan Pathan struck again to dismiss Dinesh Karthik. The Delhi wicketkeeper mistimed a slow delivery of Pathan and pulled where Mahela Jayawardene picked comfortably at long on.

Piyush Chawla gave a denting blow to the Daredevils as he struck twice to dismiss Paul Collingwood and Daniel Vettori.

Daniel Vettori perished to a googly after Collingwood failed to pick Chawla’s delivery. The Kiwi skipper played for the wrong line and was clean bowled.

In his previous over Chawla had scalped Paul Collingwood. Collingwood played for the ball to turn away but the ball spun back in and hit the pads.

The Daredevils lost David Warner and Gautam Gambhir in quick succession just after Sehwag was dismissed. Irfan Pathan got rid of the explosive opener for duck in the second over of the match.

Pathan struck in the very first ball of his over when Sehwag tried to hit hard an inswinging delivery but mistimed and eventually Reetinder Sodhi took a simple catch at mid wicket.
