Digi Launches ConnectCore Wi-i.MX51 Digi JumpStart Kit

Digi International has launched the ConnectCore Wi-i.MX51 Digi JumpStart Kit which boasts of ConnectCore Wi-i.MX51, the industry’s first platform made specially for low power, wireless multimedia applications. The kit has a wireless applications and development board, a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 board support package and a 17.5 cm (7”) WVGA LCD.

The kit enables wired and 802.11n networking and is particularly useful in the medical field, for digital signage, transportation, security and surveillance, and industrial automation technology.

“The ConnectCore Wi-i.MX51 Digi JumpStart Kit features all of the tools necessary to build network enabled low power, wireless devices with leading user interface and multimedia capabilities,” said Larry Kraft, senior vice president, global sales and marketing, Digi International. “Design engineers can focus on other elements of a product design allowing organisations to get to market quickly.”

The ConnectCore Wi-i.MX51 is a 32-bit module which uses the new high-performance Freescale i.MX515 ARM Cortex-A8 processor with 600 and 800 MHz processor speeds. It also features 10/100 MBit Ethernet networking and a pre-certified 802.11a/b/g/n wireless interface, superior image/video processing and dual-display capabilities, an integrated accelerometer and ZigBee connectivity options. With Digi’s five-year product warranty, it is a very useful long-term availability solution.
