Kochi, Sunday 14 March 2010: Police today arrested three young men spreading a bomb scare by SMS. They had sent SMS to different phones about bombs being planted at the Oberon Mall in Edappally. Bomb squad and the sniffer dog squad of the police rushed to the mall and searched the premises.
The SMS messages also warned about bombs going off in places like Menaka, GCDA and different railway stations before Tuesday.
The hoax comes in the heels of a warning from the union home ministry about LeT planning attacks in and around Kochi. Cops and commandos are already deployed in different parts of the city after the home ministry alert.
