Aluva, Thursday 05 Aug 2010: Sleuths of the Excise Intelligence Bureau on Thursday morning seized about 6265 litres of spirit from a lorry at Alangad, near Aluva. The spirit that was allegedly being smuggled from Trichy to Angamaly was stored in 179 cans, hidden in a lorry carrying fish.

Police have launched a massive hunt for illicit spirit following tip- off that the spirit mafia is becoming prominent during festive season in the State.
