New Delhi, Friday 3 July 2009: Mamata Banarjee, railway minister reserved 85 crore for the doubling work of railway tracks in Kerala. The amount would be utilized for the doubling of six railway lines in the state. The lines for which amount has been sanctioned is as follow.
Mulanthuruthi – Kuruppathara (16 crore), Kurupathara – Chingavanam (15 crore), Chenganoor – Chingavanam (26 crore), Ambalapuzha – Harippad (10 crore), Cheppad – Harippad (8 crore), Mavelikkara – Chengannoor (10 crore).
However Malabar left isolated from all the major declarations, despite the presence of E Ahmed as MoS. People in Malabar regions were hoping that Ahmed who knows the pulse of Malabar would be more positive towards their wishes.
