Kalpatta, Tuesday, January 18, 2011: One more accused in the PSC recruitment scam in Wayanad has surrendered in the Kalpatta Dy. SP office. The accused has been identified as Bashir, father of KB Shamsira, the eighth accused in the job scam case in which two persons obtained jobs in Revenue Department in Wayanad by fake Public Service Commission orders and advice memos.
Shamsira had obtained job in the Bathery village office as an LD clerk with the help of forged documents. Shamsira and her father were absconding after the news on the job scam was reported. Shamsira later surrendered before the police on January 11th.
The Kalpatta Chief Judicial Magistrate Court had remanded Shamsira while rejecting her bail plea filed in connection with the PSC job scam. The main middleman in the job scandal Janardhan Pillai, who surrendered before the police earlier, said that there were plans to recruit more people by producing fake advices. JP told police officials that the scam was planned at the lodge in Thampanur in Thiruvananthapuram.
The fraudsters will trap the employees after making them believe that the collector can conduct appointments in supernumerary posts in backward districts of the state. Sooraj was the first appointed through bogus orders. They duo later changed it into a business as huge sums were allegedly paid by the job aspirants to the members of the racket.
