Kochi, Wednesday, 09 November 2011: The judge of the Karnataka High Court Manjula Chellur appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. She replaces justice chelameswar, who has been elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court.
She is the first woman Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. She enrolled as an advocate on 11 August 1978 and practice in courts at Bellary District and joined in Karnataka Judicial Service as District Judge on 15 April 1988. She promoted to the Cadre of District Judge (Super Time Scale) on 29 December 1994. Then she appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka on 21 February 2000 and became permanent Judge on 17 August 2000.
