Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, February 03, 2012: Hotline, the weekly one-hour talk show on latest hot subjects and controversies and one of the most popular programs on ACV has won the Thekkanstar media award.
Hotline, which won the award for the best news based programs, is anchored by Rajesh Pillai, who is also the head of ACV News division.
Hotline has succeeded in creating a niche for itself, even in the melee created by the rush of umpteen number of vernacular channels in Malayalam.
Hotline Live is unique in the sense that one hot subject is discussed in each episode for one hour with viewers also given opportunity to phone in and ask questions on the issue discussed. That makes the show both live and lively. Most of the senior politicians from the state, including Union and State ministers have been guests at the show.
The award was announced at a press meet held here on Thursday evening. Award committee chairman Balu Kiriyath, Jury members Dasthajeer Panachamoodu, Vattappara Ramachandran, Thekkanstar Bureau Chief S Badushah attended the function.
