Alappuzha, Saturday, February 06, 2010: Leader of opposition Oommen Chandy today accused the advocate general’s claim before High Court that the state had not asked to demolish the check dams built by TATA.
Oommen Chandy said, the remarks have embarrassed the state to no limits, the legal stance taken by the AG was contrary to government’s decision, it reveals that not many legal consultations were made by government and legal experts regarding Munnar.
Yesterday, when the petitions came up for hearing, Advocate-General C.P. Sudhakara Prasad submitted that the Collector was holding a hearing on the show-cause notice on February 8. He also submitted that no coercive action would be taken till the hearing was concluded and the final orders were passed.
