Palakkad, Wednesday, 10 March 2010: Compared to last years the state faces a high rise in temperature these days. Four has been affected by heat stroke in Palakkad. Heat stroke is the most severe form of heat illness and is a life-threatening emergency. It is the result of long, extreme exposure to the sun, in which a person does not sweat enough to lower body temperature.
Taxi drivers and a vendor of Pathiripaala, are the victims of heat stroke. They have been admitted in the hospital under this condition of high rise in temperature. The RDO started examination on this regard.
The District Medical officer had given instruction to be vigil in this regard. Atmospheric temperature had gone beyond 40 degrees in Palakkad region in these last days. High temperature has been noticed in Kochi and Wayanad areas too.
