Alappuzha, Monday, October 25, 2010: Former MP Dr K S Manoj, who left the CPM against the party’s directive on avoiding religious functions, was not able to cast his vote.
When Manoj and his mother came to exercise their franchise, it was informed that their names do not exist in the voters list. He left after lodging a complaint to the collector.
Senior Congress leader K Karunakaran has also failed to cast his vote this time. In the last Lok Sabha polls, the leader arrived early and had exercised his franchise. This time he couldn’t make it as he is in the hospital. Karunakaran is a voter of the Pookunnam division.
