Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday 14 June 2009: The first allotment list for admission to Plus One courses in the State has been published. The list can be accessed on the web sites www.hscap.kerala.gov.in and www.hscap.kerala.nic.in, a press note here said. For viewing the list on GPRS-enabled mobile phones, visit www.hscap.kerala.gov.in/ wap.

Admissions will be held from June 15 to 17. Students who have received allotment should compulsorily secure admissions in the respective schools before 5 p.m. on June 17. Those who fail to do so will not be considered for further allotments.

Students who have been allotted their first-preference school should pay the fee and get permanent admission. Students allotted their other preferences can secure temporary or permanent admission. No fee need be paid for temporary admission.

Students who do not find a place in this list should wait for the next one, the press note said. The category-wise last-rank details in each school for which a student had applied can be known from the web sites.

As many as 4.25 lakh students had applied for Plus One admissions through the single-window system. The centralised processing of so many applications is a record, the press note said.

Allotments and admissions will be made via the single-window system for 2,10,494 merit seats in government and aided schools in the State. In the first round, 87 per cent of the seats have been allotted.

The 11.27 per cent seats where allotments could not be done are those reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and where there were no applicants. Apart from this category, 2.5 per cent of the seats could not be allotted for want for applicants.

Physically challenged candidates have been allotted their first option. Additional seats have been allowed in schools for this. School principals should follow the instructions given on the web sites and complete all admission-related procedures on time, the press note quoted the Higher Secondary Director as saying.
