Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday 29 November 2009: Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor will arrive in the State on Sunday afternoon on a two-day visit. This is his first visit to the State as Army Chief.

He will arrive in the capital for presenting actor Mohanlal with an award instituted by the Sree Chitra Trust. The function is scheduled to be held at the Senate Hall of the Kerala University at 5 p.m.

He will interact with school children on the occasion. On Monday morning, General Kapoor will visit the Military Station, Pangode. He will be briefed on the activities of the station.

He will then leave for Alappuzha. The Army Chief is accompanied by senior Army officials. General Kapoor will leave the State via Kochi on Monday.
