Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, March 31, 2011: Pinarayi Vijayan, CPM State Secretary claimed that the brutal attack carried out by P Jayarajan MLA against Shajahan, Bureau Chief, Asianet News, Kozhikode is a fabricated story.

Speaking to the mediapersons in Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayan added that Jayarajan had intervened to pacify those who turned against Shajahan.

“Had allegation about such an attack by Jayarajan surfaced few years ago there was reason to doubt that Jayarajan may have lost temper in some circumstances. But considering his physical condition, there is no sense of such a doubt”, Pinarayi said.

Claiming Shajahan had tired to present an issue which never came up during the debate as a major problem in his concluding remarks; Vijayan urged to introspect, if Shajahan has worked according to media ethics.

“Jayarajan intervened to pacify those who turned against Shajahan following his concluding remarks” - sated Vijayan. When asked about the threat made by Jayarajan to Shajahan over phone, the CPI (M) state secretary played ignorant claiming that he was not aware of what was said over phone.
