Ernakulam, Saturday, 24 July 2010: Yunus, one of the main accused of the attack on Newman College Lecturer T.J Joseph while recording his statement confessed to police that the attack on the victim had found victory only in the ‘fourth attempt’. The report says that he had revealed to cops the involvement of Ernakulam District leadership of Popular Front.
The accused admitted that the activists of Popular Front who had been deployed to chop off the arm of T.J Joseph, for preparing an inflammatory question paper, had made three attempts earlier to the last one near the Church, where his arm was chopped off.
However, earlier two attempts were made by arriving on bike and the third one to attack the Lecturer at his house, all the three which failed due to several reasons, says report.

Yunus, the prime accused in the hand chopping case was produced before the Moovattupuzha Court today. The Court remanded him to police custody till August 1. Yunus has been included as the 4th accused in the charge sheet.
Yunus was taken into custody from Palakkad today for his involvement in the savage attack on T.J Joseph, a Malayalam lecturer of Newman College in Thodupuzha. The police team headed by SP Unni Rajan had arrested Younus and interrogated him.
The police reports say that Yunus along with other two suspects had arranged the vehicle and money for committing the crime. The vehicle was taken into custody the next day after the crime.
