Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, October 01, 2011: Workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party will block the Karamana- Kaliyikkavila National Highway on Saturday to press their demand for the speedy widening of the arterial stretch.

In a press release here on Friday, the party’s district committee demanded that the United Democratic Front government include the development of the congested and narrow road in the Chief Minister’s 100-day action plan.

It also demanded the speedy rehabilitation of traders and residents who would be displaced in the process. The affected parties should be compensated fully and quickly. BJP district unit president Karamana Jayan would lead the protest.
