Thrissur, Tuesday 23 December 2008: Kerala Revenue Minister K P Rajendran yesterday said a team of top officials from the Border Security Force (BSF) had visited Ernakulam and Thrissur districts recently to inspect land site for establishing the proposed BSF battalion in Kerala.
Addressing a press conference here, Rajendran said the state government was keen in getting the battalion established in the state and their minimum demand was for about 85 acres of land.
The state government has prepared a project with a total outlay of Rs.150 crore for the protection of 44 rivers in the state.
The government had collected an amount of rs.85 crore as sand royalty since 2001
