Thiruvananthapuram, Monday 6 July 2009: Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has presented Budget 2009-10 in Parliament. Pranab Mukherjee in his 2009 budget has allotted Rs 613 crore for the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and for the Indian Institute of Spaces and Science Technology Rs 175 core. Rs 25 crore each has been alotted for the development of campus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Malappuram along with Murshidabad.
Other than that, the allocation in budget for the state are as follows:
Fund for development of Vallarpadom Container Terminal project - Rs 99.97 crore.
Hindustan News Print Ltd- Rs 57 crore
Vallarpadom railway – Rs 45 crore
FACT- Rs 34 crore
Cochin Shipyard - Rs 60 crore
Foreign fund of Rs 150 crore for sustained development project and Rs 280 crore for KSTP would be ensured.
Kochi special economic zone to get Rs 5.64 crore
Spices Board - Rs 62 crore
Rubber Board Rs 105 crore
Coffee Board –Rs 153 crore
Cashew development – Rs 2 crore
Marine Products Development Authority - Rs 95 crore
Subsidy for Shipyard - Rs 120 crore
Coir production upgradation and development – Rs 5 crore
