Call to restore sanctity of script: Actor Indrajith

Thiruvananthapuram, Monday 29 March 2010: The sanctity of the story and the script needs to be restored if there is to be a qualitative upswing in Malayalam cinema, actor Indrajith has said.

The hero of the newly released film ‘Nayakan’ was participating in a Face to Face programme at the Press Club here. The characters and the actors chosen to play them should be the result of a good story and script. The practice of writing a script for a particular actor was not commendable. The story and script was the backbone of a movie, Indrajith said.

In reply to a question, he said though a good actor should not be bound by barriers of language, he did not plan to shift base to any other State to better his acting career.

He had taken a decision that he would henceforth act only in those movies where he was given a substantive role .In reply to another question, he said he did not think it was right to ban an artiste from performing.
