Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, December 15, 2011: Opposition leader and CPM stalwart VS Achuthanandan has today called for a serious introspection to take stock of its one of the worst performance in the previous Assembly elections.

Speaking to the mediapersons after inaugurating the CPM district committee meeting here on Thursday, even though the previous LDF government had launched several public oriented schemes the result was disastrous, VS added.

While the CPM-led Left Democratic Front won 68 seats, the Congress party-led United Democratic Front (UDF) steered to victory with 72 seats.
