Ponnani, Tuesday, April 07, 2009: Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan will reach Ponnani today as part of his election tour. Chief Minister will take part in the various election convention programmes at Puthanathanni and Mankkada.
Ponnani was cause for a major rift between the CPM and CPI after the seat sharing talks began which later led to a major blow up between both parties.
This is the first time Chief Minister will participate in a public function in Ponnani after he announced that he is not interested to share venue with PDP.
Kerala Chief Minister and veteran CPI(M) leader V S Achuthanandan had on Sunday announced that the LDF did not enter into an alliance with Abdul Nasser Madani-led PDP but was not averse to receiving its votes and dismissed chances of his sharing platform with PDP leaders during poll campaigns.
The CPI had also earlier made clear that it will not share stage space with PDP.
