Kozhikode, Sunday 30 January 2010: Following the new revelations in the ice cream parlour case, a fresh case has been registered against IUML general secretary P K Kunhalikutty and his co-brother K Rauf.
The Kozhikode Town Police registered the case wherein Rajeena and Rajula, the two witnesses, were made to sign affidavits retracting their earlier statements.
The case has been booked for influencing and intimidating the witnesses. The case against Kunhalikutty is intimidating the witnesses and against Rauf for helping the witnesses alter the affidavits. The case was registered as per the direction of the Home Ministry.

A police team led by Malappuram DySP K Sudarshan started probe into a complaint filed by gunman of IUML State General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty, Mohammed Rafi, regarding death threat to the Muslim League leader, on Saturday.
“The police has already recorded the statement of the gunman and the verification of the facts is on,” K Sudarsan said, adding that further investigation would be initiated after receiving permission from the court.
The complaint and the document supporting the statement of the gunman has been submitted the Malappuram Magistrate Court on Saturday morning by the investigation team, seeking permission of the court to start the probe.
It is learnt that the complaint lodged by the gunman sought a detailed inquiry into the death threat and also the presence of strangers in the public meetings attended by Kunhalikutty. Earlier, the state government had handed over the charge of the investigation to the Malappuram DySP.
It was on Friday morning; the IUML leader revealed that he is facing death threat from his relative and industrialist KA Rauf and claimed that the Manglore based goons trying to finish him off.
Following this Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had announced a probe on the death threat. The CM had assured that the government would bring the person behind the threat before the rule of law.
