Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, September 10, 2010: Kerala State Finance Minister T.M Thomas Issac today told that the Central government was supporting the Inter State lottery mafias in the State. Minister Issac affirmed that the relation ship between the Centre and the lottery mafia had created the present problems.
Minister made it clear that the State government would not ban the State lotteries and also wouldn’t allow the gambling of the Inter State lotteries. Minister was speaking at a function while declaring the State government’s allowances for the lottery agents.
Thomas Isaac said rice for Rs 2 and an ex-gratia of Rs 1000 will be given to the lottery workers. Announcing the package, he said the special benefits are announced in order to solve the problems faced by the workers after cutting short the number of draws.
He also announced an insurance package of Rs 70,000 for the workers.
