Alappuzha, Sunday 7 June 2009: Irrigation Minister N K Premachandran today said they will inform about the bad condition of the Mullaperiyar dam to the centre as well as the Tamil Nadu Government.

An expert team, which visited the dam, found that its strength had deteriorated posing a threat to the life and property of the people living in nearby areas.

The 14 pressure scales installed by the Tamil Nadu Government cannot be approved, opined the team. The minister said these were installed without the permission of the state government.
