Palakkad, Monday 12 April 2010: Paloli Mohammed Kutty, Local Self-government Minister, has accused the Union government of preventing the State from harnessing its water resources to generate hydel power.

Inaugurating the construction work of the Meenvallom mini-hydel project here, Minister alleged that the Union government was preventing the State’s attempts to generate energy at low cost through hydel power. He said the Union Minister concerned was acting as a technical adviser by denying sanction to such projects.
