Palakkad, Friday, 12 March 2010: The expert panel from Centre for Earth Science Studies confirmed that the burn marks seen on the body of few people in Palakkad, was due to sun stroke. The expert panel arrived at Palakkad today morning.

The team comprising of Dr. Zakkaria, Dr. Muralidas and Dr. Vinayak had held discussions with the District Collector K.V Mohankumar. They visited those places where the heat problems had been reported. The expert panel warned the possibility of sunstroke in the forthcoming days. Around 15 people in the district have been reported affected by sunstroke.

The particular nature of the environment and the unclouded results in sunstroke. The report regarding the study would be submitted to the government within two days time, the panel added. The team had been empowered by the State government.
