New Delhi, Wednesday, June 10, 2009: Reverberating the CPM Polit Bureau’s stance on the prosecution of Pinarayi Vijayan, Party General Secretary Prakash Karat said, the Polit Bureau has already made its point clear and the prosecution consent given by Governor and the latest political upheaval has not influenced its decision.
However, Prakash Karat refused to comment on the question whether Governor’s decision was politically motivated.
Earlier, the Polit Bureau had branded the case against Pinarayi Vijayan as “politically motivated,” and rejected demands for Pinarayi Vijayan’s resignation from the party post. The party had also decided to fight the case politically and legally.
The CPM Polit bureau had also alleged that the CBI had become a tool in the hands of the ruling Congress-led government at the Centre.
