Thiruvananthapuram, Saturday, August 14, 2010: A team of Civil supplies officials headed by District supply officer today, conducted raids at various godowns in the city and seized various ration items that were kept for illegal sale in the black market. The raids were being conducted to thwart black marketing and hoarding of ration items during Onam festival.

The officials seized 1600 kg of rice and 450 kg of sugar from a margin free shop in Peroorkkada. In another raid 178 sacks of ration rice and wheat were seized from a godown near Vizhinjam. The civil supply officials informed that the raids would continue in the up coming days.
