Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, January 21, 2009: The march taken out by the house surgeons to Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan’s official residence at Cliff House ended in violent cash between police and students. The march was lead by SFI activists.

The march was in protest against the Government’s decision to exempt exempt B Sc nursing, B Pharm, BPT and B sc Mlt courses from the common medical entrance examination and make admission to these courses on the basis of Plus-two marks.

The government took the decision to improve the standard of para-medical courses, including nursing, and to ensure admission to brilliant students.
