Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, November 13, 2008: Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will hold a significant meeting with IT Chiefs at his chamber on Thursday morning.
The meeting holds special importance as the IT sector is facing new challenges in the background of global economic meltdown, which was evident when some employees at the IBS Software Services in Technopark had recently been given pink slips due to ‘incompetence’.
Even though, the IT companies say the laying off did not have anything to do with the economic crisis and the it was part of HR exercise, the situation has alarmed the Government compelling it to intervene.
There are more than 25,000 IT professionals working in 150 companies in the Technopark and at the Kochi Infopark campus.
