Kochi, Wednesday, June 26, 2011: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking seminar here today.

Malayalam actor Padma Shri Mammooty would also give anti-drug pledge and message in the seminar.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture K V Thomas, Kerala Public Works Minister V K Ibrahim Kunju, Food and Civil Supplies Minister T M Jacob and Mayor Tony Chammani would also participate in the seminar.

It was United Nation’s General Assembly’s decision on their meeting on December 7, 1987, to observe International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26 across the world.
