Thiruvananthapuram, Wednesday, February 10, 2010: Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan today condemned the police action taken against the encroachers in Wayanad.

Chief Minister after the weekly Cabinet meeting said, the police dragged encroachers including children and women from the land and behaved in an ill manned way, VS Achuthanandan also added that, the CPM Wayanad district secretary did not threaten district collector and had only lodged protest against the authorities for te action taken against encroachers.

Chief Minister also dismissed reports that, the encroachment movement in Wayand sponsored by CPM was to divert the attention from Munnar issue, he said, the land struggle in Wayanad has been a long pending issue and earlier also the AKS had launched protests here.

However, Chief Minister refuted to respond on Munnar queries raise by scribes, saying that, the issue was under the consideration of High Court.
