Price rise: CM vows action against hoarding   Price

Thiruvananthapuram, Thursday, November 26, 2009: After the high level meet that was convened here today in order to check the rising prices of essential commodities, said, the government would take action against those indulging in hoarding and creating artificial shortage of essential commodities in the state.

Fruit and vegetable kits would be given with 20 to 30 per cent subsidies.

Steps would be taken to remit the debts of Maveli stores. Attacking the central government, Chief Minister said, the wrong policies of centre is supporting the retailers. It is the retailers who are controlling the market prices of commodities. The central government has given the go downs of food corporation of India as rent to these retailers.

C Divakaran, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Minister for Home Affairs, G Sudhakaran Minister for Corporation and other high officials attended the meeting.
