Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday 15 May 2011: KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala on Sunday said that he would not be joining the next UDF ministry about to take charge in the state.
He also said that Oommen Chandy would be the leader of the Congress Legislative Party and that he would give his complete support to Chandy as an MLA as well as the KPCC president.
Chennithala said that he was announcing this because of the campaign in the media on the topic of him taking on Chandy. There is no difference of opinion within the party on Oommen Chandy becoming the chief minister, he said. Chennithala went on to say that he has no desire to join this ministry and that he would continue his role as holding the party together by staying on as the KPCC president.
Chennithala said that he would demand that Chandy should be unanimously selected as the CLP leader.
