Thiruvananthapuram, Friday 19 December 2008: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan here today said that Coastal police stations should be empowered in the wake of terror suspects in Kerala. The functioning of Coastal police stations will be in cooperation with the fishermen and the local people.

Center allotted 8 Coastal police stations in the State and State Government gave directions to take boats for rent for the functioning of Coastal police stations, Minister added.
