Thiruvananthapuram, Friday, February 04, 2011: Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan today said that a commission has been appointed to probe allegations against Kannur former District Secretary P Sasi. He was speaking to the mediapersons in Thiruvananthapuram.
The expected result did not happen in P Sasi’s issue. I had got assurance that action will be taken against P Sasi, VS said.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had raised the issue in Thursday’s secretariat meeting demanding stern action against Sasi. Citing earlier complaints also, VS demanded that Sasi should be expelled from the party. But, leaders of official faction wanted an inquiry to be conducted first before taking any disciplinary action.
P Sasi, a trusted lieutenant of CPM State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, was removed as the Kannur district committee secretary in December last following allegations of misbehaviour levelled by a couple of party functionaries. While one complaint was regarding Sasi’s misbehaviour with the wife of a youth leader in Kannur, the other was filed by a senior leader.
