Commonwealth Express reaches Ernakulam   Commonwealth

Kochi, Saturday, August 28, 2010: The Commonwealth Express exhibition train that is traversing across India arrived at the Ernakulam Junction railway station on Saturday morning. The train would be open to visitors from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Of the 11 coaches, six have been devoted to the Railway Sports Promotion Board to showcase the history of Commonwealth Games and details of outstanding sportspersons of the country. The other six coaches narrate the story of IT and communication technology and how they impact our lives.

The Thiruvananthapuram Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Kumar received the train, in the presence of Beena Mol, international athlete and Sports Officer of the Railways. Indian Railways has encouraged many sportspersons in the country and is a lead partner of the Commonwealth Games.
