Alappuzha, Monday, October 26, 2009: Communist Party of India state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said, the party will take fresh vigour and energy from the ‘Rectification plan’.
The UDF cannot predict a smooth win
When asked about central committee’s decision to fix a tenure for party general secretary and state secretaries Pinarayi Vijayan said, he will respond to this once it become operationalise.
According to this the office of general secretary or state secretary for more than three consecutive terms. This proviso could provide an honourable exit for CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, who has been accused in the SNCLavalin case. Pinarayi was elected CPM state secretary in 1998, and reelected in 2002, 2005 and 2008.
Party general secretary Prakash Karat said in New Delhi on Sunday after a central committee meeting that a rectification document has been prepared with guidelines for strengthening the party, maintaining communist norms and values, and remoulding the outlook of the party members towards upholding progressive values.
The rectification campaign based on this document, will be initiated at all levels of the party,” Karat said.
