
Kottayam, Friday, January 29, 2010: In the by polls held to the local self governing institutions, from the results announced in the eight seats, the UDF has won in five seats. In Kottayam, Congress has emerged victorious in the three wards.
In Pathanamthitta, Congress dissident won in Thottuva ward, which is a sitting seat of Congress.
UDF also retained its seat in Moolathara ward in Palakkad.
Muslim League’s KM Abdul Rahman won in Kasaragod Pallikara panchayat.
Meanwhile, the CPM won in Punnapra’s Thekku panchayat and seventh ward in Kumbalangi.
